A Journey into Opulence: Savills Greater China Team’s Unforgettable Experience at The OWO Residences by Raffles London

Recently, I had the privilege of representing the Savills Greater China team on a trip to London, where we were invited by one of the most prestigious developers in the world to experience their latest masterpiece: The OWO Residences by Raffles. Nestled in the heart of prime central London, this development is a true testament to world-class luxury, seamlessly blending historic grandeur with modern sophistication. From the moment we stepped inside, we were utterly captivated by its opulence, elegance, and attention to detail.

The OWO, short for the Old War Office, is a historic landmark that has been meticulously transformed into a collection of 85 ultra-luxury residences and a 120-keys Raffles hotel, UK’s first-ever Raffles. The developer has masterfully preserved the building’s classic design while infusing it with contemporary touches, creating a harmonious blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. As we toured the property, we were shown three turn-key show apartments, each uniquely designed yet equally breathtaking. The quality of materials, the craftsmanship, and the sheer attention to detail were unparalleled—truly in a league of their own. From the finest marble to the bespoke finishes, every element exuded sophistication and exclusivity.

One of the highlights of our visit was ascending to the rooftop of the hotel, where we toasted with champagne to celebrate our team’s successes in the development. The panoramic views of London’s skyline were nothing short of spectacular, with iconic landmarks like the London Eye and Big Ben standing proudly in the foreground. It was a moment of reflection and celebration, surrounded by the beauty of one of the world’s most vibrant cities.

The experience culminated in an unforgettable lunch at Kioku by Endo, a Japanese fine dining restaurant located on the rooftop of The OWO. Helmed by the renowned Endo Kazutoshi, the restaurant offers a unique fusion of East meets West, defined by the chef’s personal memories and culinary artistry. Every dish was a masterpiece, but the scallop and Wagyu beef were particularly exceptional—melting in our mouths and leaving us in awe of the quality and flavor. It was, without a doubt, the best Japanese fine dining experience we have ever had.

The Old War Office (OWO) building was built in 1906, and is a Grade II listed Edwardian Baroque building located opposite Whitehall and the Royal Horseguards in central London. Built to serve as the administrative headquarters for the British Army, the OWO has been a landmark in Whitehall for a century. The building was once the office of many notable figures, including Winston Churchill, and was the inspiration for James Bond 007 spy story. After a six-year renovation by The Hinduja Group, costing £1.36 billion, aiming to preserve the building’s historical integrity, the London landmark – The Raffles London at The OWO officially opened in 2023 and is now home to many discerning families around the world.

Residences in The OWO by Raffles London starts from £8.75m.
