3. As a Senior Financial Analyst in the Valuation Department, what are the exciting and challenging aspects of your job?
The Valuation and Research team at Savills provides comprehensive real estate valuation services for commercial and residential projects. We also offer project feasibility consulting for real estate investors, banks, fund managers, and property development companies.
One of the most interesting aspects of this job is the need for flexibility and adaptability. On average, the time to complete a valuation or consulting project will only last about 15 to 30 days. Overseeing the project, you must quickly develop a comprehensive implementation plan, identify, and assess issues, as well as conduct extensive research and utilize all accumulated knowledge about geopolitics, markets, economics... to provide the most accurate valuations and advice for clients.
However, the work also presents certain obstacles, such as the transparency of market information. With multiple data and information sources, the tasks of collecting, analysing, and processing data can take more time and effort. As Savills serves as a provider of market information and property valuation assessments, this requires the utmost caution and meticulousness to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
4. In your experience at Savills, what types of real estate projects have you had the opportunity to analyse and value?
I have had the opportunity to conduct valuation advisory and consultancy for over 30 real estate projects. Most of these projects include residential, commercial, resort and industrial properties located in major provinces and cities across Northern and Central Vietnam, as well as Laos.
5. What's your favourite part about working at Savills? Did you have a specific project or moment that stands out?
At Savills, people are the most valuable asset. I am glad to work alongside experienced mentors and colleagues, who are always willing to guide me in my real estate journey. I also have the opportunity to mentor the younger generation- interns, who are very talented and eager to learn. And thanks to Savills, I have managed to build a strong network of quality partners in the same field.
Above all, at Savills, I get to learn more, propose ideas, engage in discussions and debate, and independently execute diverse projects. I am proud that my team always delivers real estate valuation that best reflect the market situation.
My most memorable experience at Savills was undoubtedly the site inspections in remote provinces with challenging terrain, requiring various kinds of transportation including planes, cars, trains, motorbikes, walking and even a boat ride. Site inspection requires good physical health, and sometimes it can be stressful due to the pressure of gathering and analysing as much data as possible within a short timeframe. However, these experiences also foster stronger bonds among colleagues.
