Our Managing Director, Neil MacGregor recently completed his 354 km bicycle ride with Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA) in support of Saigon Children’s Charity, a charity that gives disadvantaged children in Viet Nam a better start in life through education.
Neil was happy to be back in the saddle after the race was cancelled last year due to Covid. With the CCA programme, Neil and other cycling enthusiasts achieved the goal of helping underprivileged children across Viet Nam. Neil said, “In 2020, we raised over US$120,000, I am so excited to be part of this challenge again. I hope that I can set a record this year.”
He spent three days cycling 354 km from Hue Tri to Quang Binh. Neil, along with 42 other cyclists, managed to raise enough money to build two new schools in the Mekong Delta or provide 202 university students with an annual scholarship.
“It was a challenging adventure, but it came with fun memories and a great team spirit in support of a fantastic charity. I hope my efforts on this trip will help bring a better life and new opportunities to disadvantaged children, especially after the challenges of the pandemic. I am looking forward to joining Charity Cycle Adventure 2023 and doing it all over again," Neil added.
Saigon Children’s Charity is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1992. Its mission is to help underprivileged children and young adults in Viet Nam reach their full potential. Charity Cycle Adventure is an annual fundraising activity that helps underprivileged children in life. Through the program, Saigon Children’s Charity will gradually remove barriers to education for Vietnamese children.
